NovaClear Black and Grey Water Recycling System

Black and Greywater Recycling
WaterGurus NovaClear is a black and grey water recycling system that uses expert water recycling technology to provide safe reusable water.
The System
WaterGurus NovaClear black and grey water recycling system is designed and manufactured in Australia by WaterGurus. Developed with support from three leading universities, the WaterGurus Novaclear uses water recycling technology to provide safe reusable water.
The compact, lightweight, single-tank can be installed above or below ground. It is suitable to be installed in unsewered areas or where selected household reuse (in sewered areas) has been approved. Check with your local council for details.
Using WaterGurus patented MembraneSafe™ technology, all household wastewater (black and grey) is recycled to 99.999% germ-free water quality. Safe for you and your family, even your pets.
WaterGurus NovaClear is designed to recycle up to 2200 litres of wastewater per day. This is more than 10 times the allowance for the average person which is 200 litres per day.

The WaterGurus NovaClear Difference:
Save water and money
Plan and create your own sustainable environment
Beat the drought and have a lush green garden
Chemical-free disinfection with membrane filtration
Low energy consumption through efficient design
Odour-free thanks to a full aerobic process
The Treatment Process
The WaterGurus NovaClear uses a compact, single-tank system. Within this tank is a primary aeration chamber and two smaller chambers, the membrane bio reactor (MBR) chamber and the recycled water chamber.

Stage 1: All household wastewater enters the primary chamber with a substantial additional buffering capacity of about 1500 litres, for times of high load or emergencies. In the primary chamber, the aeration process allows micro-organisms within the wastewater to break down and consume the organics and nutrients. The WaterGurus NovaClear system is able to digest all of the organic matter and excess bio-mass, resulting in almost no excess sludge build-up.
Stage 2: The aeration process continues in the MBR chamber, which houses the patented membrane filtration/disinfection unit. The membranes act as a physical barrier, working in a fashion similar to the human kidney to provide the main form of disinfection within the system. With a pore size of 0.2µm (1/250th diameter of a human hair), all bacteria and virus larger than this are removed. The recycled water is now transferred to the recycled water chamber.
Stage 3: Recycled water is pumped out to the specified irrigation area. The frequency of this is determined by the amount of water within this chamber. In areas where re-use in the house is allowed, water will be stored for re-use.
About MembraneSafe Technology
Membrane filtration and disinfection technology is state-of-the-art and is found in modern commercial-sized systems. Membranes range from microfiltration to reverse osmosis.
The WaterGurus NovaClear uses flat sheet membranes to provide micro/ultra filtration and disinfection with a very low energy consumption.
In combination with other technical elements and their unique, scientifically-proven process, WaterGurus refer to this as their MembraneSafe™ Technology, producing 99.999% (or better) germ-free water quality.
This technology delivers safe, re-usable water, suitable for irrigation and selected household use.
Function of membranes: The pores through which the water must pass have a size of 0.2µm (0.2 microns), equivalent to 1/300th diameter of a human hair and five times smaller than the smallest bacteria. The membrane acts as a physical barrier to block bacteria and viruses and all solids larger than 0.2/1000mm are removed.

Unique features of MembraneSafe™ technology:
Proven and reliable technology
Low preventative maintenance requirements
Robust, durable construction
Few moving parts
Only one 240V pump
A self-cleansing mechanism that requires much less energy, yet still works more efficiently than conventional cleaning systems
Membrane filtration is an effective form of chemical free disinfection
No tendency for clogging with fibrous substances.
